As if there wasn't enough going on around here...The Honda 2001 XR50 Stunter.

January 11, 2016

My bud Brian and I have been talking about this bike for a while now. He was looking for a bike to ride with The World Famous Wheelie-ing Elvi. He wants a CRF/XR50 based bike with rear seat pegs, an ass-friendly wider and longer seat, a little extra power, left hand rear brake, and a metal tank and fenders. As far as styling, 1980's BMW "M" series white with red and blue stripes, blue alloy wheel rims, and a dual exhaust. Brian wanted minimalist styling befitting the BMW theme. To that end, the engine was done in a matte finish. The rear section was cut off and a larger diameter 3/4" steel tube was used to form a new top loop. There are reinforcing gusset plates extending to the tail of the bike, where a swingarm bolt slides through the tail tubing to mount the seat pegs. The frame has been de-tabbed. Waiting on the swingarm and wheels, and a CR80 seat that I am hoping can be adapted to this frame/tank combo.  A 1988-99 year model Z50 tank will be used. I mocked it up with a CRF50 seat laying on there. The seat is too short and not wide enough, but gives you an idea where its headed.

WTF is going on here?
