Crazy story...These bikes were shot back in July of 2013 when the Z50 Magnum was shot. I never got the finals on these for a number of reasons, one being I told the photographer, my bud Peter Salisbury, to hold off until doing them as I was going to build him a custom circuit-bent keyboard in exchange for them. Well the keyboard got about half built, and a supply problem halted the progress. With multiple projects rolling around here, Peter's keyboard got put on the back burner. The way back burner, like till just a couple weeks ago, when a text from him inspired me to finish it. Well finished is the keyboard, awaiting delivery tomorrow. The pictures are awesome. He makes the bikes look better than in real life.
The CB500T is in pieces.
Lots of small jobs getting done on the CB500T. The mufflers, swingarm, fenders, headlight mount, and most of the frame are done. The remainder of the useless brackets got shaved off. The cross-member for the battery and air filter assembly had some stylish "speed holes" drilled. Made some custom perches for the rear turn signals. Fabian got some super bright LED's for the brake and turn signals from Revival cycles. All the welding is getting prettied up in prep for powder.
The 1980 CB50 AC02 tank gets its strap on!
What a pain this one was to polish!
Got a tank strap from a Honda Dream50. The last four inches of the strap had to be cut off and a bracket made to fasten it on each end. This feature was the impetus for moving the filler opening to the side. Also got some more polishing done on the engine clutch cover. Once the rear tank bracket is done, there is nothing stopping this from heading to powdercoat and paint.
