Just some before pics to fill the time. The hardware is gone for zinc plating. An 82cc engine was purchased from a member on the minibike forum, and is on its way. Everything is just about ready to go for powdercoat, but it may still be a while as some of the last pieces are being sourced from the Netherlands.
The 1975 Honda CB500T
Been helping a new friend with his bike build. Starting with a stock 1975 Honda CB500T, it is to be customized with frame, fender, seat, exhaust, and electric mods. We got the engine running with some carb kits and points. Since it seems to be running well, and the vacuum style carbs will work better with the stock air box, it is probably going to be left alone in that regard. The stock pipes are being ditched for some custom ones made from a CB550 set. Most of the rear frame has been detabbed, and a rear loop constructed. The original rear fender will be used, albeit with a different location. This build was meant to be a chance for the owner, Fabian, to be a part of the transformation.
The CB50S tank is undergoing some changes.
Moved the filler neck on the tank in anticipation of the Honda Dream 50R hold-down strap that will hopefully be used. There is a little bit of work yet to be done where the strap comes over the front of the tank. The forks have been reassembled with CRF70 tubes and the original springs. The original springs were a bit longer than the CRF ones, making for more pre-load than they had on either fork set-up. Getting ready to take hardware for zinc plating.
